I’m a big fan of organic baby clothes. I know they’re often ten times more expensive than high street alternatives but they wash incredibly well, are far longer-lasting, and are undeniably soft by comparison. Dexter has several organic rompers, vests and tees and you can visibly see the difference in quality. In fact, I’ve kept hold of all the organic clothes he’s outgrown and plan on making a patchwork quilt from them when I’ve collected enough.

There are other advantages too - they are kinder to delicate skin and are far better for the environment as the materials used are sustainable. Cudaboo take this one stage further and give back a proportion of their profits back to charitable partners that dedicate themselves to ensuring a happy future for Pandas, Lions and Primates. Panda International, Lion ALERT, and UK charity Wild Futures, all work to hard to promote the welfare of endangered animals worldwide.

To further align themselves with the cause, all of Cudaboo’s clothing and blankets feature cute cartoon versions of the animals they support. There’s Choco the Monkey, Tian the Panda and Max the Lion, and each are really quite adorable.

We’ve reviewed a long sleeved romper and bib from Cudaboo and are pleased to report they are every bit as soft as we expected. Our romper features Max the Lion who looks incredibly similar to baby Simba from The Lion King - the character is a transfer and not embroided but he’s already withstood a few high temperature washes in the washing machine and has stayed put. The poppers are great quality (which is ideal for my little Houdini - he’s taken to stripping off his nappy in bed at the moment… Sigh) and the seams are tough and comfortable for little explorers.

I will point out that the sizing is a little strange. I was provided with a 6-9 month romper which I was originally a little unsure what to do with. Dexter is a very small 23 month old and still in many 12-18 month outfits - but this romper still fits him comfortably so it’ll be awhile before Mini Madam gets to use it. Obviously you get a considerable amount of stretch and wear out of a romper - they should be loose-fitting to ensure your child can sleep and play comfortably - but I was shocked Cudaboo came up so big. This isn’t a problem, it’s just worth knowing before you go ahead and place an order.

The colour is really gorgeous. I’d describe it as mint green although the website states it is turquoise. This is totally gender neutral and looks adorable against Dexter’s blond hair. The rompers (as with all Cudaboos clothing range) are also available in pink and grey HOWEVER you don’t choose your character as this is predetermined by the size you choose. This might be seen by some as a little restrictive but it’s all to do with Cudaboo’s eco credentials as it keeps stock purposefully low. All the characters are equally cute in any case. At £28 some mums might balk at the price but remember you’re paying for quality and the profits go to a great cause.

The little bib is incredibly well made. Again, it’s incredibly soft, a generous fit, and well-made. It does up with poppers which is my preferred method of securing them - it’s tougher for little people to rip off yet isn’t a choking hazard. At £8, it’s on the expensive side but I must admit it’s one of my favourites in his drawer - alongside his supremely soft Funky Giraffe Bibs.
