There are so many excellent pregnancy apps out there at the moment. From old favourites such as Baby Bump and What to Expect which deliver a daily dose of headline news from ‘the inside’, to count the kicks apps to contraction timers. The trend then follows on post-birth with useful apps for nervous parents such as NuuNest, and breastfeeding timers.
As smartphones become ever popular mums-to-be are increasingly turning to their mobiles for news and gentle reassurance that the dark line of hair sprouting downwards of their belly button is normal. Labour apps in particular are also great for getting dads actively involved in the birth, not least as it gives them something to fiddle with whilst their partners writhe around in pain beside them.
Creating something new and exciting is therefore a huge challenge - after all what is there that hasn’t been done already? Well this is exactly the dilemma faced by the guys at Bio-Oil - and here is what they’ve come up with…
New Bio-Oil Bump Tracker Pregnancy App
At Bio-Oil we know how special mum’s growing baby and changing body are, and that the exciting nine months of pregnancy before baby is born can fly by in a moment. To remember this special time, Bio-Oil are launching a free new app: Bio-Oil Bump Tracker.
With the Bio-Oil Bump Tracker, the mum-to be can track their changing body from the early stages of pregnancy all the way through to their baby’s arrival. After the first picture has been taken, the app creates a ghost background image so that their bump profile is perfectly aligned for photography each time. We know that pregnancy is a busy time, so the app will send a reminder each week for mum-to-be to take a picture of their ever-changing bump so they can get a complete record of their pregnancy.

After a few pictures have been taken Bio-Oil Bump Tracker will piece the photographs together, and then play them in quick succession in a time-lapse video so you can see how your bump has grown.
When baby is born, the new mum can complete their pregnancy story with a photograph of them holding their new baby. They can enter baby’s name, along with birth date and weight and share the video of images with friends and family all over the world in an instant via Twitter, Facebook, Youtube or simply via email.
Use the Bio-Oil Bump Tracker to remember where your story began. It’s free to download and creates a keepsake video to keep forever.
Bio-Oil Bump Tracker is a free app, available for Apple users download from www.newbaby-newbody.co.uk/bumptracker.
Genius right? I’ve been taking pictures of Mini Madam’s impact on my belly for weeks now and would have loved to have had these images morphed into a time lapse video. It a great way of documenting your pregnancy and reflecting on the highs rather than the lows. I can also imagine it being something truly lovely to share with family members who have missed seeing your belly inflate to globe-like proportions.

Yes, I use all sorts of apps - did first time round and even more so this time. Daily, weekly updates, kick/movement trackers and even contraction trackers - Love them
I definitely will do! I love the ones that tell you the size of the baby, and compare it to a baked bean/strawberry etc!

I’m past the baby stage but my daughter would probably use it
No I haven’t used apps, but would consider it. I’ve signed up to week-by- week email updates in my previous pregnancies, so it is quite similar. I have 11 weeks to go in this pregnancy so I guess it isn’t too late to give the apps a try!

Been using the Baby centre App that gives you info about what stage of development the baby is at which is quite useful. I find some of the information can be a bit overwhelming though and the group forum chat rather annoying with attention seeking idiots monopolising it.
probably
Absolutely! Love an app and this sounds perfect for me as I am a control freak and like to know whats happening all the time hehe
I had a weekly update email with my first - but didn’t bother with baby 2 or 3!
