Who Can Resist a Pink Lining Bag?

Posted on

I clearly can’t!

When offered the chance to review one of their quite-frankly to-die-for changing bags, I leapt at the chance! Not being an overly dainty mummy, I opted for the Sq-washable Tote Bag in greys (which is coincidentally very similar to the one showcased on This Morning today). I wanted something daddy-friendly (I’m not suggesting Craig will skip down the park in heels with this bag, but he won’t mind trotting off to the disabled loos to change a dirty nappy), nice and roomy, and with plenty of pockets to stash away all Dexter’s bits and pieces.

This scrummy bag appealed as it’s machine washable (if you had half as many accidents as us, you’d realise just how important this is), is really lightweight, and comes with an adjustable shoulder strap for hanging over the handle bars of our buggy (and over the kitchen door to stop Dexter smearing melting chocolate Rice Krispie cake all over it!).

There are lots of welcome zips on this bag so you can safely stow away your keys, purse and moisturisers (Dex likes to eat these and once ate half a bottle of Halos N Horns when I had my back turned!). You have two smaller outer pockets for your mummy things, and one big mesh-lined zip pocket inside. The fact this is see-through is fabulous as you don’t have to scramble around for those all important baby wipes.

There are also nappy pouches to keep your Pampers safe if when case your Ribena spills in your bag. Couple this with an equally roomy detachable zipped wet pouch (ideal for wet clothes when your child has a ‘little accident’), and you have oodles of storage for additional necessities (in my case - my make-up bag, snacks and a personal planner). The interior lining is also easy to wipe clean with a baby wipe - just in case!

There are also some cute little extras - a key fob, a mirror, detachable bottle insulator and padded changing mat - all in trademark pink (the wet bag and change mat have the seriously cute muffin design that Pink Lining are famed for).

Finally, all of the straps are thick-woven fabric so won’t wear or break. The shoulder strap is detachable and secured with metal key-ring style clasps for extra reinforcement.

To be honest, I’m not a ‘bag junkie’ so getting my mitts on this was a huge treat. I have a beautiful DKNY handbag for my grown-up bits and pieces, and have a changing bag for Dexter - you’ll either see me with one or the other, I have no need for any more. I’m exactly the same with shoes, jewellery and make-up - I have one set of everything and replace it when it’s beyond repair. This isn’t because I’m hugely disciplined, exceptionally thrifty, or due to the fact I’m more of a trainers and leggings person - I’m none of these! It’s actually because Dexter is such a handful, I always overlook myself. At £60, this bag isn’t bank-breaking so there’s plenty of pennies to spend on something blue and plastic to distract him from having a meltdown! There’s also free delivery which is all too hard to come by these days.

I haven’t heard one bad review about Pink Lining Changing Bags. In fact they’ve taken on cult status and have been seen on the arms of many celebrities. I stifled a giggle this morning when the stylist on This Morning said that The Duchess of Cambridge will allegedly be sporting one too. Well fit for a princess or not, I’m delighted with this bag and would recommend it to all my mummy pals.
