GIVEAWAY: Win a Red Morphy Richards Elipta Kettle worth £41.99 (CD: 27/04/2015)

Kettles.

They see a lot of action in one day. I’m not one for hot drinks, but my Craig can’t function without injections of caffeine. Then, for those of us with small babies, there’s the never-ending cycle of boiling and cooling water for bottles.

In fact, the average person here in the UK will use the kettle more frequently than any other kitchen appliance. Yet, how often do we all get around to upgrading this essential bit of kit? Not often enough.

On around its millionth boil, our kettle is crying out for retirement, in fact, I’m scared to go near it when it’s cranking up to 100 °C. It’s also lost that posh chrome finish it had when we rescued it from the shelf of a hardware store all those years ago. The Russell Hobbs has logo worn away, and watermarks and limescale have aged it back to Victorian times.

So we’re gearing up to welcome a swish new Morphy Richards Elipta traditional kettle in red to our home. Just as Heidi is making the monumental switch to cow’s milk, we’re sending our kettle to the tip to live a more peaceful life away from our chaotic kitchen.

Shopping for it (who am I kidding? - shopping for anything) was easy. Our kitchen is inherited from the house’s previous owners and is, I think, classed as a farmhouse kitchen. There’s more than a nod to Morocco in the colour scheme and red just seemed to fit. As ever, we went to those stalwarts of all things Home; House of Fraser, and opted for a funky traditional design. And lucky you as they’ve kindly given me a second one to giveaway!

Here’s the spec:

  • 3kW element
  • 360º cordless base
  • Removable limescale filter
  • Concealed element
  • 1.5L capacity
  • Illumination in water gauge
  • Cord storage
  • Stainless steel
  • 360° rotating base

Want it?

Well enter via rafflecopter and you could win £42 worth of shininess to give your kitchen a new burst of life. If you should win, the matching toaster is currently down to £27.99 from £39.99 too - just in case you’re all OCD about these things…

Good luck!

    • Oh dear - don’t worry. Award yourself the entry anyway - I think you’re already following me from a previous comp x

  1. Definitely the kettle, because I’m an open house - family and friends always popping round. We also drink lots of tea too - the kettle’s seems to be constantly on the boil.

  2. The kettle, and it’s a horrible cheap one and seems to take forever.

I make constant cups of tea when at home.

  3. Without a doubt, the kettle. I drink about 20 brews a day (I wish that was an exaggeration), plus bottles etc! I used to have a lovely gas kettle that whistled but it drew the hubby mad and he put a stop to it - meany!

  4. I’d agree with the kettle, or perhaps the toaster.
Unless you count the fridgefreezer which never stops working, obvs ;p

  5. Excluding the obvious, such as the fridge. The answer, at the moment, would be my new Halo+ Fryer. It’s amazing.

  6. Definitely the kettle! Love a cuppa and always drinking lots as its cold in the house! Plus boiling the kettle several times to make flasks up for days out!

  7. Definitely the kettle ! ever since my dad moved in he makes a cup of tea every half hour, the other day the poor thing blew up and smoke came out of it, I think it must of been overuse. We are back to using a whistle kettle on the oven which I detest !

  8. The microwave :)

  9. my slow cooker , I work nights and it really is a life saver, just bung everything in and its ready to eat later on!

  10. I think we use the toaster most in our house, can’t be a nice slice of toast lathered in butter every morning :)
