Dex would have me believe that it’s an incredibly tough life being a toddler. There’s countless horrific bum changes, hundreds of tantrums to be had when I dare to pluck my mobile phone from his grasp, and (even though he’s restricted to knee level) dozens of opportunities to create a mess. It also takes considerable effort on his part to pretend he doesn’t understand the word ‘no’, and listen to his mummy bleating on about ‘what sound a cow makes’ - I might as well not bother as he finds it far funnier watching me crawl around on my hands and knees gathering Duplo, play food, and wooden bricks from every corner of our lounge.
So when it all gets too much, he’s now got a dinky little child’s tub chair and footstool from Dunelm Mill to take a well-earned break on.
You see poor old Dexter loves putting his feet up when watching Dora the Explorer. He also needs somewhere comfy and quiet to indulge his penchant for mummy & baby magazines. It also makes for the ideal spot to seek refuge when daddy whips out the vacuum cleaner.
All joking aside, I seriously love this leather armchair. It’s modelled on Dunelm Mill’s adult-sized Milan Collection and comes complete with the same intricate stitching detail. Also available in blue and red, I choose deep brown to complement our living room suite.
As well as being seriously stylish, it’s also incredibly easy to wipe clean and has a removable seat pad so you can easily get rid of any stray crumbs. Best of all it’s only £49.99 for both chair and footstool so the perfect unconventional Christmas pressie.
It’s been climbed over, jumped upon and pushed around our lounge and remains really sturdy and upright. The quality is just amazing given the price. I’ve seen similar chairs in baby boutiques for twice as much, if not more. It’s absolutely perfect for any 1 or 2 year old.
In fact, I’m equally besotted with all the other children’s furniture available at Dunelm Mill. The price points are amazing and the build quality is impressive. Most is available exclusively online, but many bits are also in-store if you want to have a look close-up. Where else can you find invaluable storage solutions for under £30?

Disclaimer: We’re a favourite blog of Dunelm and therefore received a gift card to cover the cost of Dexter’s chair. I’m not easily swayed though and am positively delighted with our chair - hence the glowing review!
