Relax with soft music.
Eating foods containing ginger or drinking ginger tea helped incredibly with the nausea and sickness feeling throughout the pregnancy
Make the most of any sleep you can get or any chance to nap - you need to stockpile the sleep as you won’t get any for a while!
Lots of lovely relaxing candle lit baths to relax. You don’t get much chance for baths when baby comes and have to have frantic rushed showers when you have chance! X
If you like to sleep on your side in bed, place a little cushion or pillow between your legs and you will feel so much more comfy! Toward the end, when I got terrible heartburn, I bought on of those v shaped nursing pillows to ‘prop’ me up in bed. You see, if I lay on my back and propped up the heartburn wasn’t as bad!
The iron in supplements can make you feel extra nauseous. Try eating a banana straight after helped me
Spend some time on yourself before the baby arrives, get your hair done or your nails or just treat yourself to a cake & cuppa! As its hectic when your newborn arrives and a while before you get ‘me’ time back
I found wearing sea-bands useful for morning sickness. If you have questions for your midwife appointment jot them down during the week so you don’t forget when you get there.
My tip: ALWAYS have milk in the house for heartburn!! I find that the heartburn medicine midwives give you made me gag because of the texture but milk ALWAYS does the trick.
A bit of a theme going but I suffred with heartburn and nothing worked better for me than milkshakes
The wedge pillow for my bump is the best gift I was given!
My husband running me a bath with scented candles to relax made me feel a lot better
chilling out with some classical music a friend gave me a cd
Chilling out with family in comfy pj’s!
Have some ‘plain’ biscuits next to where you sleep so when you wake up you can ‘make’ yourself eat it and help stave off morning sickness.
If all else fails, at least have a folded up carrier bag with you so that you at least do not have to fret about being sick in public with no where to put it. I know this sounds yuck! but it helped calm me a bit as I had morning-noon-and night sickness with all 3 of mine.
Take some time out every day to relax. A lie down, or at least 10 minutes with your feet up works wonders!
try and keep chilled
Putting a pillow between my legs as I like to sleep on my side as this helped a lot.
Try and have a little nap in the afternoon, I woke up feeling refreshed.
Flat shoes
Do what’s right for you. and trust your instinct.
Probably obvious but comfortable clothing is everything to me when I am pregnant.
I got a 4ft tubular pillow given to me and it was fantastic, used in bed it went the full length to support my bump and wrapped between my legs for total comfort. Also had its uses when baby was born. Was great for wrapping round my middle when breastfeeding. Supported baby and my arms at each side. Very comfortable Apparently it was quiet expensive, i was lucky enough to be given one.
Everyones pregnancy is different so try not to compare yourself too much with other people (The exact same thing goes with babies, all different and don’t compare)
Make the most of some alone time: pamper yourself! You’ll be hard pushed too later on!
Dont forget about the partner. So much is concentrated on Bump that the partner can feel neglected.
Eating little & often made me feel better last time - otherwise I’d feel too stuffed if I had a proper big meal.

Make a special effort to have time just with your partner before the baby is born - even just a light walk or a meal out.
Accept all offers of help once the baby arrives, we are not superwomen and trying to clean, do the washing, ironing, cooking etc with a newborn, will just leave you stressed at a time when you should be enjoying your new arrival.

if your digestive system feels a bit sluggish beetroot juice is working well for me.

I found that having a nap after work everyday really helped, the tiredness can be unbearable for some and i benefited from this
My daughter is pregnant at the moment, one tip I gave her was to not worry about housework if she wasnt up to it and just rest instead, her and baby were more important than a bit of mess. I bought her a hamper of belgian choccies which made her feel better even if the tip didn’t.
Keep up with the moisturising - I got lazy with it and the marks came along!!
‘don’t worry morning sickness doesnt last forever!!!’ made me feel a whole lot better!!!
I gave my wife ginger ale for morning sickness - she said it helped?
Be sure to get away before the baby is born, the change in environment and a new perspective will enhance your relationship, there won’t be much time for that once you have a newborn
Having a nice, hot bath made me feel better.
lots of sleep and eat little and often
Eat ginger biscuits to ease nausea! It really works!
Two tips: 1) Prescription Gaviscon, who knew?! 2) Stay active. You’re not ill for 9 months, just changing shape. (At 40 weeks the prescription Gaviscon is a rather bigger part of my life than exercise, mind you).
Hot baths always seem to cheer me up during pregnancy x

Ginger tea in the mornings to keep sickness at bay. Or dry biscuits.

Going for a nice walk at the coast
I bought a long pillow that I was able to throw my leg over - it took the pain away from my lower back when I was in bed

put a comfy pillow under your bump at night, makes a huge difference
Smoothies, banana milk, sucking on an freeze pop or ice cubes to help with dehydration. I would tell myself that I need to drink this for my baby! I would eat very small amounts and had my husband prepare things ahead of time for me because I was too unwell to do it myself. Majority of the time, all I could do was take a few small bites. I think if I were to get pregnant again and had these symptoms I would push to find out if I have Hyperemesis Gravidarum and find out what treatments are available. I remember spending months on the sofa and my hubby helping me with everything including my basic care. I felt so useless and such a burden to him even though he never minded. If you experience these symptoms, don’t suffer in silence, speak to your doctor, find people to help you whether it be a mum group online that have experienced it or someone to support you and willing to offer help. Don’t feel guilty or allow other’s to treat you as though you are ‘pretending’ to get sympathy. Don’t suffer alone!
To deal with morning sickness try nibbling on a ginger biscuit before getting out of bed on a morning
Just try and relax as much as you can, eat small meals often and drink plenty of water.
I got a v shaped pillow, while pregnant I slept almost upright in it - I had horrendous heartburn for 7 months
, which it helped with. I then used the pillow when I was breastfeeding! X

Keep a banana in your bag for when you feel light headed early on - saved me a few fainting moments !
Take time for yourself and each other.
I had awful cramp and restless feet with my second pregnancy. It would keep me up for hours. I used to have to keep my socks on in bed, which did the trick!
Sparkling water helped me keep hydrated and helped to combat morning sickness.
Make time for a relaxing bath. And meet with other pregnant ladies. You get to offload concerns and be excited with others who feel exactly the same. Nothing quite like some moral support!
Do let others help

Enjoy every min of your bump while he/she in the perfect incubator . Xx
I liked using a self-hypnosis cd for birth. Brilliant!
The wedge pillow for my bump in bed was an necessity for me but you can also use it after birth to have under the baby during feeding and when grandma/ granddads hold the baby that would normally be able to (too weak)
